There hasn’t been all that much in the way of marketing for it other than a teaser trailer, a featurette, and a few posters, but with the release of the film only about a month and a half away, you can most likely expect that to change.

Today, thanks to First Showing, we have two more posters for the film for your viewing pleasure, one showing Mr. and Mrs. Thenardier (Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter) and the other showing Cosette and Marius (Amanda Seyfried and Eddie Redmayne).

There has been a bit of concern that these poster look a bit silly, and indeed the first one does kind of make it look like this is a Tim Burton production, but there are those that defend its look by informing us that the Thenardiers provide the comic relief for the musical, so it could be deemed appropriate to show them in this light.

As for the second one, some have found it to be a bit too Twilight-ish, though I find that a bit too harsh. It might not be the best poster in the world but it does what it’s supposed to do, which is show us the young lovers together.

As I mentioned a while back, it seems like it’s been a long time since we’ve had a great musical film, which is why I have high hopes that this production will be just as great as it looks.

We’ll finally get our chance to find out when Les Miserables arrives in theaters on December 25th.

Check out the posters below and let us know what you think in the comments.
