The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers are bound for San Diego Comic-Con.

Word comes by way of The Movie Network (via ScreenRant), where singer-songwriter Becky G – on board to portray the Yellow Ranger in Lionsgate’s high-profile reboot – confirmed that the film will have a presence at the fan-centric event later this month: “I know that we are gonna be doing Comic-Con. So we are going to do that. I’m geeked!”

Going one step further, fellow newcomer Dacre Montgomery set sights on San Diego via Twitter.

It’s unclear what Lionsgate has in store for SDCC, though considering Dean Israelite’s (Project Almanac) blockbuster wrapped principal photography back in May, unveiling the first Power Rangers teaser trailer certainly isn’t out of the question.

Billed as a different beast to the original ’90s TV series, with Bryan Cranston (Zordon) even going so far as to compare its big-screen transformation to that of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Power Rangers features Montgomery, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott and RJ Cyler as its budding cast of newcomers, while Elizabeth Banks is poised to take up arms as alien supervillain, Rita Repulsa.

Dean Israelite will assemble the Power Rangers in time for March 24, 2017. We’ll be keeping tabs on Lionsgate’s live-action reboot along with all of the upcoming tentpoles going into SDCC, so stay tuned.
