A new series of character posters has been released today by Lionsgate UK, focusing on the heroes of the upcoming romance action flick Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Based on the best-selling parody novel of the same name, the movie follows the story of the Bennett sisters, Elizabeth (Lily James), Lydia (Ellie Bamber), Mary (Millie Brady), Jane (Bella Heathcote), and Kitty (Suki Waterhouse), who must all come of age during the incoming zombie apocalypse set against the backdrop of 19th Century England.
Originally released in 2009, the novel takes the original structure of Jane Austen’s classic story and infuses it with a bit of bloody mayhem as all of her well-known characters must learn how to deal with zombies in addition to all of the issues of manners and societal strife that Austen’s book is known for. Pride and Prejudice and Zombie‘s author, Seth Grahame-Smith, also wrote Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which was turned into a film in 2012.
The posters feature three of the leading quintet of women who must do battle against the undead horde, and also includes Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley), Mr. Bingley (Douglas Booth), and Mr. Collins (Matt Smith). Last month, Lionsgate shared the character posters for Mr. Wickham (Jack Huston) and Lady Catherine de Bourgh (Lena Headey), following the debut of the film’s first trailer a few weeks before.
Directed by Burr Steers, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will release in theaters on February 5, 2016.
