The anticipation growing around Ridley Scott‘s Alien prequel is making any Prometheus tidbit hot news, specifically as there is a lot of secrecy around the film. Word has it, from what some insiders have seen of the sets, that it has a very Alien look and feel, and fans won’t be disappointed. The pic of the mech loader has been described as a “huge lifter” but I still think it looks more like that thing Ripley used to load boxes AND kick an alien queen’s ass with in Aliens.

The stellar Prometheus cast includes Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Noomi Rapace and Patrick Wilson. It hits theaters in 3D on June 8, 2012. Despite some misdirection, fans do now have an official synopsis from the studio. Check it, and the pics out below and tell us how you think things are shaping up on Prometheus.

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.
