Though she’s currently leading ABC’s excellent new drama Quantico on the small screen, Priyanka Chopra is now looking to make her mark on the big screen. In Hollywood, at least.
The actress has been a pretty prominent name in Bollywood for years now, but is only just starting to become familiar to American audiences. That looks set to continue, too, as Paramount is in negotiations with her to join their upcoming Baywatch remake, which also has Zac Efron, Dwayne Johnson and Alexandria Daddario attached. No word yet on which exact role Chopra is being eyed for, but it’s said to be a villainous one, which could be pretty interesting.
In terms of what Damian Shannon and Mark Swift have planned for us with their script, we’ve heard that the basic premise of the reboot is said to revolve around “a hotshot former Olympian who butts heads with the leader of an elite team of lifeguards.” We also know that the filmmakers are going for a “badass Baywatch” that will carry with it an R rating.
That sounds fine by us, and given the talent that’s currently attached here, I’d definitely say that this one is a project to keep your eye on as it further develops.
