Now this sounds interesting.

After working together on 2009’s Inglourious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino is looking to get back into bed with Brad Pitt for a film based on the Manson Family murders. Not only that, but Jennifer Lawrence has been approached to co-star and Harvey and Bob Weinstein are on board to produce.

Eyeing a summer 2018 shoot, it’s still early days on the project but it’s quickly coming together from what we understand, with WME looking for financing at the moment. Tarantino is behind the script and as mentioned above, the currently untitled film will be based on the horrific event where Sharon Tate and several others were brutally murdered by Charles Manson and his followers in 1969. Two years later, the cult leader and a number of his crew were sentenced to life in prison for their crimes.

Should this materialize, and we have no reason to think that it won’t, it’ll be Tarantino’s first film to be based on true events, which is interesting to note. Not to mention that seeing him deliver a grisly and disturbing story like this should be pretty exciting, as he’s well suited to this type of material given that the director is known for his violent, dark and often unsettling films.

Again, it’s still early days here, but this project certainly sounds promising and you can bet that we’ll be keeping you right up to date as further updates on Quentin Tarantino‘s Charles Manson movie begin to emerge.
