Quentin Tarantino has been hard at work on his next project for a while now, but aside from hearing that it will be a Western, we’ve received little to no information on it. Today, however, it appears that we have a title as Deadline tells us that the film will be called The Hateful Eight. The director has his first draft of the script completed too and has sent it out to his muse Christoph Waltz as well as Nebraska’s Bruce Dern.
Tarantino hopes to shoot the film this Summer but first he has to get a cast in place. Considering his status in Hollywood though, I don’t think he’ll have too much trouble with that. He’s the type of director that actor’s line-up to work with and you can bet that he’ll be putting together another star studded cast for this one.
Unfortunately, the details stop there, but already I’m excited. I mean, Tarantino and Waltz teaming up again to make another Western together is more than enough to have me hooked. Plus, you probably didn’t realize it but Dern also showed up in Django Unchained. And after delivering such a wonderful performance in Alexander Payne’s Nebraska, audiences no doubt want to see more of the actor.
We’ll definitely be keeping you posted once we hear more but I’m happy to see that the wheels are moving on this one and that it may head into production as early as this Summer. The world is ready for another Tarantino movie and this film can’t come soon enough.
