Only a week after actress Rachel Weisz was offered a part in Oz: The Great and Powerful, Deadline is reporting that she is now being sought after for another high profile film, The Bourne Legacy. Chances are though, she won’t be able to do both. Legacy starts shooting in September while Oz is set to go in front of cameras this summer, so there could be some conflicts in scheduling.
Her character in Legacy would be “an operative from a covert government program that is even more dangerous than the Treadstone brainwashing program that hatched Bourne.” As for Oz, she’d play Evanora, older witch sister of Theodora. Personally, I’d like to see her do both but since that may not happen, I’d have to go with The Bourne Legacy. I think her and Renner would be fantastic together and I’m pretty excited for the film. I’m really interested to see where they take the franchise.
That being said, Weisz is very talented and will shine in either role. Hopefully we’ll have more news on which one she decides to go with shortly.
