7) Captain Marvel

Who’s involved? All that is known about this one is that Guardian of the Galaxy’s Nicole Perlman is writing the script with Inside Out’s Meg LeFauve.
[zergpaid]What’s it about? Captain Marvel (not to be confused with the DC character also known as Shazam) is actually former US Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. After being caught in the explosion of a device created by the Kree, she is imbued with super powers, like flight, strength and energy projections.
Verdict: As with heroes of different ethnic backgrounds, Hollywood has never really taken to female superheroes – but this is about to change thanks to DC’s Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel. Though WW comes out first, Marvel will no doubt match that film with their own superpowerful superwoman and hopefully prove to studios that female superheroes don’t make for bad business. We can’t wait for Carol Danvers to make a huge impression on the MCU going forward.
