As of right now, not a huge amount is known about Thor: Ragnarok, with Chris Hemsworth being the only confirmed cast member and Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo and Cate Blanchett all likely to join him.

Will the movie also bring back familiar faces like The Warriors Three, though? Ray Stevenson (who plays Volstagg in the Thor movies) was asked what he knows about Thor: Ragnarok in a recent interview, and had this to say about the next instalment in the Marvel franchise.

“I’m absolutely blown away to be a part of something that so influential and integral in a part of our generation in regards to movie watching and this Marvel Universe. It’s absolutely incredible and if there’s a place for Volstagg then great, but right now I don’t know. He was great to play. Vikings in space!”

As for exactly how interested he is in reprising the role in Thor: Ragnarok, the actor added:

“I hope so, however, even if I’m not, I just wish [Marvel Studios] continued success in their incredible endeavor. I definitely feel that [what they have done] has become a staple to our generation. Until you sign the dotted line or know that it’s actually a reality, it’s up to the powers that be to decide if your character is right for the story. At this point, I don’t know.”

Stevenson clearly wants it to happen then, but with the focus shifting to Thor and The Hulk, it’s hard to imagine where The Warriors Three can fit into that. Still, them and Sif having some sort of role in Thor: Ragnarok seems fairly likely, seeing as they factored into the first two instalments. I guess we’ll find out for sure when the movie begins production a little later this year.
