Cable Deadpool 2

First Reactions To Deadpool 2 Are In And The Critics Love It

Deadpool 2 screened for critics earlier today and for the most part, they seem to love it, with much praise being showered upon the post-credits scene.

Arguably the second biggest comic book movie of 2018 – after Infinity War, of course – Deadpool 2 is quickly barreling down on its May 18th release date and as such, Fox has begun screening the sequel for critics and in just a few short days, we’ll finally get to see what everyone thinks. More importantly, though, we’ll also get to see how the pic stacks up to the aforementioned box office juggernaut.

That being said, fans shouldn’t expect the two releases to have very much in common. With the exception of Josh Brolin and one or two nods to Disney’s animated oeuvre, Deadpool 2 is worlds away from the superhero smackdown that is Avengers: Infinity War, and one need only look to the sequel’s raunchy trailers – not to mention those unexpected collaborations with pop queen Céline Dion – for evidence of that.

Nevertheless, all eyes are on the Merc with a Mouth at the moment and though full reviews are still under embargo, the first wave of reactions have made their way out of those advanced screenings and onto the web, and we’ve compiled a collection of them for you to browse below. For the most part, they’re fairly positive, too, with particular praise being showered upon the laughs, violence and what’s apparently a wild post-credits scene.

So, without further ado, here’s the first batch of reactions, completely spoiler-free!

Excited yet? Story-wise, we understand futuristic mercenary Cable (Josh Brolin) has journeyed into the past in search of Russell (Julian Dennison), who is supposedly responsible for causing some future atrocity in the X-Men timeline. Cue the Merc With a Mouth, as Wade Wilson soon takes it upon himself to form his own super-duper fucking group: the X-Force.

Deadpool 2 shoots for theaters on May 18th, and when it does, moviegoers will be treated to an extra special cameo from none other than [REDACTED].
