First Reactions To The RoboCop Footage Shown At Comic-Con

Despite a bunch of bad buzz and poor word of mouth, fans seem to have enjoyed what they saw of RoboCop yesterday during the film's panel at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con. Most people were quite surprised too, as everything we've heard about the film has been of the negative variety and I think critics had started to write the reboot off. Those in attendance were probably expecting something pretty rough so when the footage turned out to actually be alright, it probably caught most people off guard.

Despite a bunch of bad buzz and poor word of mouth, fans seem to have enjoyed what they saw of RoboCop yesterday during the film’s panel at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con. Most people were quite surprised too, as everything we’ve heard about the film has been of the negative variety and I think critics had started to write the reboot off. Those in attendance were probably expecting something pretty rough so when the footage turned out to actually be alright, it probably caught most people off guard.

You can check out the reactions from the Twitterphere below. For the most part, it’s all pretty encouraging, though there are a few things that worry me. For one, the film is going for a PG-13 rating and considering that the original was a “hard R,” that’s pretty disappointing. There are also some changes to the story that may not go over well with fans, like the fact that in this version, Alex Murphy doesn’t die. Finally, there are of course a few people who are still quite cynical about the film.

Anyways, take a look for yourself below and see what you think.
