Long time no Z: By the time Ben Stiller’s long-in-development Zoolander 2 struts into theaters in February, it’ll be arriving a full 15 years after its cult predecessor. Although, going off of today’s first full-length trailer, Stiller’s Derek finds out that maybe there’s more to life than simply being really, really, ridiculously good-looking after all.
But a lot has changed since Derek Zoolander was considered the most famous face on the planet, and as he and Owen Wilson’s Hansel so discover, the world of fashion has changed dramatically since they were on the top of their game. When a deadly plot to kill off the world’s most famous model emerges – Justin Bieber included – Stiller and Wilson’s grizzled veterans plot course for Rome. Upon landing in the fashion capital of the world, they attract the attention of Penélope Cruz’s secret Interpol agent, and against all odds, become the only hope of foiling the plan.
[zergpaid]Featuring a who’s who of big-name cameos, today’s Zoolander 2 teaser includes Miley Cyrus and Usher, while Benedict Cumberbatch and Kristen Wiig star as two models that have indulged in one too many bouts of plastic surgery. In terms of the more familiar faces, fans can look forward to welcoming back Christine Taylor, Billy Zane and Will Ferrell, who will once again play the delightfully over-the-top Mugatu.
