New Red-Band Trailer And Poster For Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters

The upcoming flick Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters remains a bit of a mystery. First, it was delayed from this year to next year, then it was unclear as to whether it was going to be rated PG-13 or R, and then the film was delayed another two weeks to get a simultaneous IMAX release (at least that's what the studio says).

Today, thanks to Coming Soon, we can shed a little more light on the film with a brand new red-band trailer that ups the gore level considerably. Along with this trailer, we also have a new poster, which is rather plain, merely featuring the titular pair with their weapons.

My impressions for the film haven’t change very much since the first trailer, though now it’s looking like it will be a lot bloodier than originally thought. I’m still thinking that this could be a fun, silly romp with an interesting twist on the fairy tale characters, but then I remember that the film comes out in January, which is usually a tell-tale sign that the studio doesn’t have much faith in it. Hopefully the former will prove to be true.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, which stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, hits theaters on January 25th, 2013.
