Release Date For New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Confirmed

Luke Skywalker has seen better days. Last we checked in on Mark Hamill's Tatooine farmboy, he had helped conquer the Galactic Empire and restore peace and prosperity to Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away. But after his capricious nephew, Ben Solo, ruined any hopes of a Jedi Academy, Luke retreated to the safety of Ahch-To, and has spent the majority of time between Jedi and The Force Awakens in a state of exile - until Daisy Ridley's Rey shows up out of the blue with lightsaber in hand, that is. And that's where Star Wars: The Last Jedi begins.

Last we checked in on Mark Hamill’s Tatooine farmboy, he had helped conquer the Galactic Empire and restore peace and prosperity to Lucasfilm’s galaxy far, far away. But after his capricious nephew, Ben Solo, ruined any hopes of a Jedi Academy, Luke retreated to the safety of Ahch-To, and has spent the majority of the time between Jedi and The Force Awakens in a state of exile – until Daisy Ridley’s Rey shows up out of the blue with lightsaber in hand, that is.

And that’s where Star Wars: The Last Jedi begins. Where it goes from there remains unclear, but we might just get a better idea of how things will play out quite soon, and that’s because the next trailer for the film is right around the corner. If you recall, Hamill Tweeted a few days back that it would arrive on October 9th, before his post was deleted. Of course, the studio remained silent on the matter but now, SWNN has been able to confirm that the actor was right and the new preview will indeed be released early next month.

According to them, it’ll make its debut during Monday Night Football, which is what Hamill teased. There’s no word yet on what it may show, but a leaked description began making the rounds last night and though unconfirmed, it pointed to footage of Finn and Rose on Canto Bight, Luke training Rey, and Kylo Ren staring on in anger from aboard the Mega Star Destroyer. Again, there’s been nothing to verify that report as of yet, but we don’t have too much longer to go now before we find out for sure what Disney plans to show off.

If one thing’s for certain, it’s that Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been penciled in for a release on December 15th. Its untitled sequel, meanwhile, Episode IX, has since found a new director (J.J. Abrams) and release date (December 20th, 2019), placing it right alongside Warner’s Wonder Woman 2.
