Ridley Scott And Danny McBride Feature In New Alien: Covenant Set Photo

Although Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant has already been in production for a while now, it was only yesterday that Noomi Rapace officially signed on to reprise her role of Elizabeth Shaw. She'll be joining a cast that includes the returning Michael Fassbender and newcomers like Katherine Waterson, Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride, who just so happens to be featured in a new set photo alongside Scott.

Although Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant has already been in production for a while now, it was only yesterday that Noomi Rapace officially signed on to reprise her role of Elizabeth Shaw. She’ll be joining a cast that includes the returning Michael Fassbender and newcomers like Katherine Waterson, Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride, who just so happens to be featured in a new set photo alongside Scott.

Like the last set photo we got, it doesn’t reveal anything significant, but at this stage in the production, we’re not expecting to be seeing a whole lot. We’ll likely get the first trailer in the Fall, maybe a bit sooner, but right now filming is still underway and the studio is not ready to let too much trickle out.

As we’ve said before, we’re kind of alright with that actually. We’d prefer to go into the Prometheus sequel with a clean slate, not knowing what Scott has hidden up his sleeve. As divisive as the aforementioned film may have been, we’re certainly intrigued to see where he takes this universe next, especially now that we know he has big plans for it.

As filming continues on the set of Alien: Covenant, we’ll surely be seeing more of it in the months to come as we inch closer to its August 4th, 2017 release. Until we’ve got new information though, feel free to let us know in the comments section below what you’re hoping to see from the follow up to Prometheus.
