Not everyone was happy when The Flash director, Andy Muschietti claimed that Ezra Miller is perfect to play Barry Allen. So much so that it open up old wounds as fans called out the backward decision-making that DC Studios has made. Not to mention the flip-flopping statements that the studio has made in the past.

Despite the praise Miller received during the CinemaCon screening of The Flash, not everyone is keen to have him return in a potential sequel. Fans brought up DC’s decision to fire Henry Cavill as Superman after his cameo appearance in Black Adam. They claimed that if DC was able to make the “bold decision” to fire Cavill, then it shouldn’t be difficult to replace Miller, especially in the wake of his past controversies.

Cavill isn’t the only actor that was mentioned by outraged fans. Grant Gustin, who played the scarlet speedster in the CW series, The Flash, was also mentioned to prove a point that Miller isn’t the only actor that’s perfect for the role. Muschietti must have seemed to have forgotten that there was another actor who played the role for more than a decade and didn’t get himself into trouble.

DC has spoken up in the past about having no plans to recast Miller in future Flash projects and that the studio has a contingency plan in regard to Miller’s replacement. However, it was recently announced at this year’s CinemaCon that Miller has sought help and has been recovering. So far, there hasn’t been any official announcement if Flash will have a story in DC’s “Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters,” and DC’s co-chief James Gunn, has been vocal about that this upcoming movie being a catalyst for the upcoming reboot.
