At the end of this week, an actual and proper sequel to A Christmas Story will be out on HBO Max. Whether it will be good or like the six (yes, really) other films in the series remains to be seen, but, if you are a big fan, you can also try to get its setting now.

WKYC in Cleveland (where the 1983 film’s front scenes were shot) is reporting the house which is now a museum and the buildings associated with it are now up for sale. The asking price is not publicly available, but, if you are the lucky one to land it, you also get the nearby museum which features memorabilia from the movie, a gift shop, the neighboring house which belonged to the Bumpuses in the story, two public parking lots, one private one and two empty spaces which are available for more expansion.

For current owner Brian Jones, the key is finding the right buyer as, the piece is not just a building, but a part of history.

“It is a piece of Americana. It’s going to be an interesting journey. A new adventure.”

The coming sequel (itself a retcon of the earlier A Christmas Story 2) takes place 30 years after the events of the original. Here, Ralphie comes home with his wife and kids and reunites with friends. While he’s in his hometown, his mother convinces him to try and give his kids and wife a nice holiday like his now-dead father always did, but, Ralphie learns it is not as easy as he thought. Peter Billingsley is back in the titular role and others returning include Scott Schwartz and Zack Ward as Scut Farkus as well.
