The Lords of Salem helmsman’s latest post includes a behind-the-scenes photo, along with a caption teasing the involvement of a three-time Oscar-winner:

“Day 1 – mixing sound on 3 FROM HELL. Getting closer to finishing this monster. FYI our mixer is a triple Academy Award winner who has mixed everything from Star Wars to Inglorious Basterds! So it will definitely sound killer.”

Presumably, Zombie is referring to Michael Minkler, whose more recent jobs have included A Star Is Born and Quentin Tarantino’s next film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

In the photo, meanwhile, you’ll notice that a fictional news report is being shown up on the screen with a picture of Three From Hell’s titular trio, Otis B. Driftwood, Vera-Ellen “Baby” Firefly and Captain Spaulding, played by Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon Zombie and Sid Haig, respectively.

This certainly isn’t the first indication we’ve seen that the media will take an interest in these three psychotic characters. In fact, between the #freethethree hashtag that Zombie keeps using in his social media posts, and the “Free Baby” t-shirt that Moon is wearing in set photos, it looks like the trio may garner some public support as they go on trial.

As it stands, it’s a little hard to get a read on what sort of story Zombie has lined up for us, since the movie has yet to receive an official synopsis. Still, it looks like Three From Hell isn’t far now from completion, and if a recent report from Dark Universe: Horror Database is anything to go by, then the film could be hitting theaters as soon as October 31st.
