Following on from Rob Zombie’s social media countdown, the first 3 From Hell trailer finally arrived yesterday and though it certainly provided our best look yet at the upcoming sequel to 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects, it still didn’t reveal a whole lot.

Running for just under a minute, it provided a tantalizing tease of the chaos to come but crucially, left out any real plot details. As such, fans have a lot of questions and now, Zombie’s taken to Facebook to answer some of them. Among other things, he’s addressed when, exactly, 3 From Hell takes place, with many wondering how much time has passed since the last film.

As it turns out, not long has passed at all, with the director explaining that his latest effort takes place immediately after The Devil’s Rejects. Of course, Zombie followed that up by addressing the next most pressing question: how did Baby, Otis and Spaulding survive the events of their last big screen outing? Unfortunately, the 31 helmer wouldn’t answer that, simply saying that we’ll need to wait to see 3 From Hell to find out.

Thankfully, Zombie also promised that another trailer would be arriving this summer, which will likely shed a bit more light on everything. Until then, though, we know that the feature’s three stars will be spending much of the movie in court or in jail, judging by what we’ve seen in set photos, and along with Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon Zombie and Sid Haig reprising their roles, we can also look forward to a solid supporting line-up.

Danny Trejo, Dee Wallace, Daniel Roebuck, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Richard Brake, Bill Oberst Jr., Wade Williams, Austin Stoker, Emilio Rivera and Clint Howard are all on board for Rob Zombie’s upcoming flick and we look forward to seeing everyone in action when 3 From Hell finally arrives in theaters this September.
