Unfortunately, it may be a while before we get our first official look at Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects sequel. Titled 3 From Hell, the pic has now finished shooting, but as the director told us just earlier this morning, he won’t get around to editing it until this summer. Presumably, that means a mid-2019 release is what they’re aiming for – though that’s yet to be confirmed.
Being the good guy that he is though, and knowing how hungry fans are for a glimpse of what kind of madness he’s cooking up, Zombie’s been dropping a few goodies on his Instagram page, the latest of which come in the form of two photos from the film. Well, they’re actually pulled from the camera screen, it seems, given what’s bordering them, but these still technically count as our first look at 3 From Hell – even if they aren’t quite official.
Seen in the gallery below, one pic features Otis while the other shows us Baby. As for the context of the scenes in question, Zombie explained that the gang are in court here, likely on trial for their crimes in the last two movies. From what the director said in the accompanying captions, Otis is addressing the media after a long day while Baby’s being escorted back to prison from the courthouse.
Unfortunately, that’s all Zombie would share for now – and still no sign of Sid Haig – but you can bet that there’s more photos where these came from and we’ll no doubt be seeing additional goodies in the weeks and months to come. Until then, we can rest easy knowing that we’re in for one heck of a good time, with Moseley recently promising us that the threequel will blow our minds.
Also starring Austin Stoker (Assault on Precinct 13), Dee Wallace (The Howling, Cujo), Jeff Daniel Phillips (Halloween 2), Dot-Marie Jones (American Horror Story) and Tom Papa, there’s still no word of a concrete release date for the pic, but fans of Rob Zombie’s eccentric oeuvre can go on enjoying updates from the Firefly Family, safe in the knowledge that 3 From Hell is coming together quite nicely.
