In particular, he shared a video from the set on his Instagram account. It sees Downey Jr., Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo and Benedict Wong on the streets of New York, shooting that sequence from early on in the movie where the four heroes take on Thanos’ Black Order.

Check it out below:

The video reveals that, though the scenes in which they fought Ebony Maw and his allies looked spectacular on screen, the reality of filming something like this, which requires so much work in post-production, is actually pretty mundane. It seems to mostly involve the likes of Downey Jr. and Cumberbatch having to pull heroic poses and react to nothing whatsoever.

Of course, the actor’s reference to Science Bros in the tags of his post is the name he’s given this particular group. It originally applied to the bromance between the two geniuses Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, though Avengers: Infinity War expanded the team to include both Stephen Strange and Wong as well.

Tragically, though, at least one of the Science Bros didn’t survive the events of the movie. When Thanos snapped his fingers in the film’s final scene, he wiped out half of all life in the universe – including Doctor Strange. We’re not sure about Wong’s fate, as he disappeared from the narrative halfway through, but he could have been a victim of The Snap as well.

Meanwhile, Iron Man and Banner have problems of their own by the end of Avengers: Infinity War, as they now stand as part of a drastically reduced team of heroes who must somehow undo what Thanos did. Those rumors of time travel being involved in Avengers 4, though, suggest that they might just find a way to do it. And hopefully reunite the Science Bros while they’re at it.
