While Avengers: Endgame might not be on the forefront of everyone’s minds right now, that’s all set to change in a couple of days. Disney is planning to re-release Marvel’s latest blockbuster with some never-before-seen footage, in an effort to make one last push to dethrone Avatar ahead of Spider-Man: Far From Home hitting theaters next week.

As you’re probably aware, James Cameron’s sci-fi epic has stood as the highest-grossing movie of all time for close to 10 years now, and while fans originally thought Endgame would surpass it, box office momentum has slowed to a crawl as of late. At the time of writing, the Russo brothers’ magnum opus is $37 million shy of the mark, and it looks like this weekend’s re-release will either make it or break it.

Both the official Marvel and Avengers Twitter accounts have already promoted the new theatrical cut, and, as you can see below, one Endgame actor has been making a big push as well. Earlier today, Robert Downey Jr. took to the social media platform to share a post of his own, where he made a plea to his fanbase. Aside from the promotional image, the actor tempted us by mentioning that the new version has “new stuff,” which is presumably a nod to the deleted scenes and post-credits sequence.

Needless to say, fans flocked to the post to show their love, awarding it over 80,000 likes in just a few hours. They also shared plenty of hilarious memes and responses, the best of which we’ve compiled below.

Frankly, we’re a little curious to see how this last-minute push fares. While it’s almost certain that Marvel’s most dedicated fans will make another trip out to their local theater to catch Avengers: Endgame, we wouldn’t be surprised if some opt to stay at home and simply look up the changes online. Either way, we’ll update you on what this new cut brings to the table, so be sure to keep your eyes on this space.
