We haven’t seen the last of Emperor Palpatine, or so says the latest speculative morsel pertaining to Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

With the rumor mill now operating at full tilt – this week alone has seen new theories concerning Supreme Leader Snoke and the great Obi-Wan Kenobi – The Express has compiled yet another report claiming that Star Wars Battlefront II holds the answers to Snoke’s intentions.

EA and DICE’s licensed title, which features a canonical single-player story, reaches its conclusion just as the Inferno Squad scramble to gain hold of Project Resurrection, a fabled initiative that would seed the creation of the First Order. Indeed, Battlefront II will receive new “Resurrection” chapters on December 13th – just in time for the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Exactly what the DLC will entail is up for question, but The Express is asserting that Project Resurrection is directly linked to a machine connected to Snoke’s throne room aboard the Supremacy – a Mega Star Destroyer of epic proportions. Not only that, but that same machine is purportedly linked to the resurrection of, you guessed it, Emperor Palpatine.

As far as The Last Jedi theories go, this one is pretty out there, but it’s worth keeping in mind that Snoke’s LEGO figure shipped with a Palpatine hologram as part of Force Friday II, so perhaps there’s some intricate link between the two mega-villains? Going one step further, will Andy Serkis’ big bad try to resurrect the fallen Sith Lord? So many questions, so few answers.

Angled as the second chapter in Disney’s rebooted trilogy, The Last Jedi will bow in theaters this December, by which point we’ll surely have our first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story, the second Star Wars anthology flick that’s poised to follow in the footsteps of Rogue One on May 25th, 2018.
