Russell Brand And Juliana Hough Cast In Diablo Cody Comedy

Diablo Cody is making the move to director and she's making her debut with a top-tiered cast. Cody's feature is set to star funnyman Russell Brand (Arthur) and songstress Juliana Hough (Footloose), announced Mandate Pictures this Monday.

Diablo Cody is making the move to director and she’s making her debut with a top-tiered cast. Cody’s feature is set to star funnyman Russell Brand (Arthur) and songstress Juliana Hough (Footloose), announced Mandate Pictures this Monday. This unnamed project, originally titled “Lamb of God,” is set to start production in Spring 2012.

The story, penned by Cody herself, follows a sheltered young women (Hough) as she heads to Sin City after having a crisis of faith. Along the way, she encounters an unlikely travel companion (Brand) that helps her along her spiritual journey and teaches her a little more about her self than she knew.

Cody is paired with Producer Mason Novick. The duo previously worked together on two films: Juno and Young Adult  (set to be released in December).

With the two leads now set, I’m interested to see how this one develops as Cody is certainly a talented young woman and I’m looking forward to her directorial debut. We’ll keep you updated on any more news that surfaces.
