At the time of writing, the worldwide box office total of Avengers: Endgame sits at $2.677 billion, meaning that the latest MCU flick still has over $100 million to go before it beats the all-time record held by Avatar. Needless to say, co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo wouldn’t mind seeing their movie wrestle the top spot from James Cameron’s sci-fi, and in a recent tweet, the pair made one more push for fans to give the film a re-watch.
The post included a statement offering a novel reason for fans to make that trip back to the cinema:
“Go see Endgame for the 4th time this weekend! Because air conditioning! And because you want to have those feels one more time.”
In a likely attempt to remind followers of “those feels,” the tweet also featured four star-studded behind-the-scenes photos. The first of the batch sees Joe Russo alongside a young Scott Lang. Behind them is the Quantum Tunnel, which Bruce Banner tried and failed to use as a time travel device.
Next is a pic of Anthony Russo opposite Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman and Danai Gurira on what appears to be the set of Endgame’s final battle. After that is a photo of Josh Brolin in a pre-CGI Thanos outfit speaking to Zoe Saldana in full Gamora makeup. Lastly, we have an image featuring too many famous figures to name posing in front of the lake by Tony Stark’s house. From the look of things, this photo was taken during the filming of Iron Man’s funeral scene, hence the predominantly black attire worn by the cast.
Going by the replies, this latest set of pics have the fans feeling sentimental all over again, but only time will tell if enough of them have been convinced to give Avengers: Endgame another three hours of their time.
