Ryan Reynolds is working his way toward a superhero comeback with Deadpool, the beloved character’s hotly-anticipated and long-awaited solo film. While the project is still filming in Vancouver and won’t hit theaters until next February, Reynolds himself has been keeping it in the spotlight via social media.

This weekend, he released an image (above) of the Merc with a Mouth to celebrate Mother’s Day in a humorous fashion that diehard fans of the comic will surely appreciate. While it’s nothing more than a fun photo, it does offer a great new glimpse at the costume (which made our list as one of the greatest page-to-screen adaptations).

By the looks of it, Reynolds will continue to stay active online as filming continues. Just today, he launched his Instagram account and released an action-packed photo of Deadpool to celebrate:

Stuck the landing. With my mouth.

While it’s not an official still from the film (it appears that some motion-capture work still needs to be done to bring the character’s expressive white eyes to life), it’s awesome nonetheless and should whet our appetites until the next big reveal arrives.

Deadpool is slated to blast his way into theaters on February 12th, 2016.
