If you’ve seen Deadpool already (and since it only officially releases this weekend, chances are you haven’t) then you’ll certainly remember the scene in question, but if you haven’t, beware of spoilers from this point on.

During Wade Wilson’s flashback, we find out what, or rather who, was responsible for his hideously scarred appearance – and also how the Merc With a Mouth (almost) manages to exact some revenge.

After escaping from a laboratory blaze he himself started, a naked-as-the-day-he-was-born (Reynolds was made to look clothed for these shots in the trailers) Wilson goes one-on-one with Ed Skrein’s Ajax, and let’s just say, well… not a lot is left to the imagination.

In an interview with EW, Reynolds reveals his method of overcoming the initial awkwardness of shooting the scene, and praises the work of the Academy Award-winning makeup artist that made little Deadpool “look perfect.”

The only way to do that is just do it,” said Reynolds. “We had a little talk with the crew at the beginning of the day and just said, ‘You’re going to see parts of the dance floor here that you weren’t ready for. I’m sorry in advance, but we’re all in this together.’ We had Bill Corso, who’s this incredible Oscar-winning makeup artist …. He’s a genius, and he made my penis look perfect.

Deadpool opens this Friday, and to see what we thought of it, be sure to check out our glowing review.
