Sh*t Hits The Fan In Terrifying New Clips For Sam Raimi’s Crawl

As someone who has spent the last decade surviving the heat, humidity, and swamps that seem to plague Florida, I'm well-positioned to say Crawl looks like less of a work of fiction from two of the industry's horror veterans, and rather, a worst-case scenario flick that takes the hurricanes and alligators and brings them together for an all-too-real nightmare.

For those who aren’t aware, Crawl is the next full-length feature from director Alexandre Aja, with Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi handling producing duties. Unlike Aja’s 2010 comedy-horror Piranha 3D – which was more irreverent in its tone than it was scary – his next project is decidedly straightforward with its direction: there’s a storm a-brewing and the killer alligators are coming to make our lives a living hell.

If you’re in the mood for a blood-soaked massacre, Crawl will likely be up your alley. As we previously reported, the Motion Picture Association of America handed down an “R” rating for some mild language and bloody creature violence, so rest assured, not everyone is going to get out of this one alive.

The film follows father and daughter duo Haley and Barry, who are trying to escape the devastation of a massive hurricane that breaks out in Florida. Before long, a few killer crocs emerge, and we can only imagine what happens from there.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long to see how things pan out for the pair. Crawl is due out on July 12th, and earlier this week, Paramount Pictures released a handful of clips to promote the film. As always, we’ve embedded both videos above, so you can check them out before you decide if you want to see it in theaters.
