Samuel L. Jackson Spotted Close To The Set Of Spider-Man: Far From Home

New evidence uncovered by Omega Underground suggests Spider-Man: Far From Home and Samuel L. Jackson's next MCU gig (barring Captain Marvel) are one and the same.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Spider-Man: Far From Home and Samuel L. Jackson’s next MCU gig (barring Captain Marvel) are one and the same.

Over on Instagram, the Nick Fury actor has been uploading numerous photos from his trip to Italy. That’s not particularly newsworthy in and of itself; even an actor as busy as Jackson can find some time in the sun. But as Christopher Marc of Omega Underground so rightly points out, Far From Home is scheduled to film in Venice over the coming weeks, which strongly indicates that SLJ is actually in town to reprise as Nick Fury opposite the young Peter Parker.

It’s by no means the first time that the MCU veteran has been linked with next year’s Spidey sequel; last month, for instance, Samuel L. Jackson announced his return as S.H.I.E.L.D.’s former director, fuelling talk that he was about to don the eyepatch once again for the so-far untitled Avengers 4.

That may well be the case, but new evidence from Omega Underground suggests that it’s actually Spider-Man: Far From Home that has the honor of becoming Jackson’s next MCU outing – you know, after Captain Marvel.

Going one step further, could it be that Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will be flanked by Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) during Far From Home? The S.H.I.E.L.D. duo sadly succumbed to the effects of Thanos’ finger snap during the post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War, but just like Peter Parker, we fully expect Hill and Fury to return from the grave (Soul Stone?) at some point next year, when they may well accompany Parker on his trip to Europe.

Spider-Man: Far From Home, the second chapter of Peter’s solo trilogy, is expected to grace theaters on July 5th.
