Scarlett Johansson Says Black Widow’s F***ing Pissed In Avengers: Endgame

The trailers for Avengers: Endgame have fallen short of revealing much about the plot, but they have done a tremendous job of getting across how desperate and devastating the global situation is following half the universe being wiped out at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. We don't know how the heroes left standing intend to put things right, but we do know that they're going to do everything they can in the attempt.

The trailers for Avengers: Endgame have fallen short of revealing much about the plot, but they have done a tremendous job of getting across how desperate and devastating the global situation is following half the universe being wiped out at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. We don’t know how the heroes left standing intend to put things right, but we do know that they’re going to do everything they can in the attempt.

Black Widow, for instance, is one such hero who’s seriously angry enough to do, as the recent trailer put it, “whatever it takes.” Interviewed in the latest issue of Empire, Scarlett Johansson explained – using a lot of expletives – that Natasha Romanoff will be in the mood to get something done in Endgame.

“Nat is a very pragmatic person. She’s looking for answers. She was trained, and born and bred to finish the job, When we find her, she’s f***ing pissed off. The one thing we know about Natasha is that she’s going to hunker down and she’s going to get those mother[frick]ers. That’s her MO.”

The trailers have already given us a taste of Romanoff’s anger that Johansson talks about. In one clip we’ve seen repeatedly, Natasha’s engaging in some target practice in which she looks to be venting some of her fury. Fans have wondered how a gun is going to do any good against Thanos, but Johansson’s comments help us get into Black Widow’s head a little. To cope with the enormous tragedy, the spy’s focusing on what she knows how to do best: to fight until she finishes the job.

The rest of the heroes seem to react to the Decimation in different ways. Steve Rogers has been helping folks adjust with his group sessions, for instance, while Tony Stark is lost – both in space and emotionally. Though at some point, likely not too far into Avengers: Endgame, they’ll decide that something has to be done to fix the universe. Whatever it takes.
