First Look At Scarlett Johansson In Luc Besson’s Lucy

Thanks to EW, we now have our first look at Scarlett Johansson in Luc Besson's upcoming sci-fi thriller, Lucy. Co-starring Morgan Freeman and Analegih Tipton, the film follows a "reluctant drug mule (Johansson) who is transformed into an incredible fighter capable of clairvoyance, telekinesis, and an ability to disregard pain and emotion when one of the designer drugs enters her system."

Thanks to EW, we now have our first look at Scarlett Johansson in Luc Besson’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, Lucy. Co-starring Morgan Freeman and Analegih Tipton, the film follows a “reluctant drug mule (Johansson) who is transformed into an incredible fighter capable of clairvoyance, telekinesis, and an ability to disregard pain and emotion when one of the designer drugs enters her system.”

So far, all signs point to Lucy being a winner. The early footage that was screened at CinemaCon has received a very positive reaction and both Johansson and Besson have proven themselves to be more than capable in this particular genre.

The actress has had the chance to show off her action chops recently thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Besson, of course, has delivered some of the most thrilling films of the last couple decades. As a director, he flourished in the 90s with efforts like The Fifth Element, La Femme Nikita and The Professional. Lately, we’ve been seeing him mostly in a writer/producer capacity, giving us hits such as The Transporter series, the Taken series, District B13 and more.

Together, I have no doubt that the two will create an exhilarating ride. The premise sounds like it’s right up Besson’s alley and I can’t wait to see Johansson return to her ass-kicking ways. We all need a little more Black Widow in our lives, don’t we?

Lucy will open in theatres on August 8th. The first trailer is set to drop on April 2nd so be sure to check back then as we’ll definitely have it for you.
