As a person who loves movies as well as taking a peek at how they’re made, Peter Jackson‘s video blogs for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey have been quite a treat.

Today, a new episode was released in which Jackson takes us on a tour of Stone Street studios, where most of the on-set shots are taking place and where some of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong were also filmed.

Luke Evans who gives us a tour of all the trailers that the cast have been living in for the past seven and a half years and we also get a look at the difference that two hours can make in a make up chair.

Moving on, Peter King, a make up and hair designer, shows us how to make sure that there is continuity within the wigs. We then continue on with some more looks at costumes and whatnot before Mr. Jackson steps in to take us on a tour of the studio.

While there are many other aspects of the video blog I can gush about, I’ll try not to spoil it. That being said, there is a very exciting guest appearance near the end so make sure you watch the video in full.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will arrive in theaters on December 14th, check out the video blog below.
