During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Cordon, Sharon Stone came right out and revealed that she’s going to appear in an upcoming Marvel movie.
I am going to do a Marvel movie. I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it.
That’s all she would say, but it was more than enough to send the fan community into a frenzy of speculation. Right now, the most popular theory seems to be a small role in the currently shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Reason being that director James Gunn is a big fan of all things ’80s, and – if the rumor holds weight – has already made room for Stone’s The Specialist co-star, Sylvester Stallone.
On the other hand, if it’s a movie that hasn’t uncapped a lens yet, the most obvious guesses are Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming, both of which are scheduled to commence production pretty soon.
Then, of course, there’s always the possibility that Stone didn’t mean a Marvel Studios movie (actors sometimes don’t differentiate), in which case it could be one of Fox’s upcoming projects, such as Deadpool 2.
