The Galaxy’s Greatest Double Act Headlines Latest Solo Image

USA Today’s summer preview continues apace, and after drawing attention to Avengers: Infinity War and its gigantic cast, we now have a brand new peek at the leading duo of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

We are, of course, referring to Han and Chewbacca, otherwise known as the galaxy’s greatest double act. But considering the Ron Howard-directed spinoff takes place long before A New Hope – and before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, too – Solo is all set to deep dive into the early days of Han and Chewie’s friendship, as they begin to mosey their way through the galaxy’s criminal underworld.

It’s a dark and seedy universe of untold riches and high-flying gangsters, and though there has been some debate regarding the spinoff’s chief antagonist, Sunday’s trailer reveal confirmed Paul Bettany’s character to be a sinister mobster, with some nasty facial scars thrown in for good measure.

As for Han and Chewie, this particular photo appears to have been captured just before Alden Ehrenreich’s standoff with a posse of aliens. Check it out in the gallery below, which also includes some screenshots pulled from that aforementioned trailer.

It’s definitely not Tatooine, as Solo is expected to whisk viewers off to a number of brand new planets that have yet to feature in Star Wars canon. Either that, or this shot is taken moments before our scruffy looking nerf-herder encounters Jabba the Hutt for the very first time. So many questions, so few answers…

The Wookiee meets the scoundrel when Solo: A Star Wars Story punches it all the way into theaters on May 25th. Box office analysts have predicted a relatively strong opening for Lucasfilm’s second anthology pic, though we imagine it’ll fall somewhere between Rogue One ($1.01 billion) and The Last Jedi ($1.3 billion) when all is said and done.
