That piece of news left fans chomping at the bit, uneasily awaiting the day they could procure their very own tickets for the highly anticipated blockbuster. Sound familiar? If it does, then you’re in luck, because today we may finally be able to give you a date to mark on your calendar, and it’s as obvious as the nose on your face.

According to Manabyte’s Blog, tickets for Solo: A Star Wars Story will be going on sale Friday, May 4th. Though not confirmed by Lucasfilm just yet, this rumour has been spurred on by an email received by the managers of two big theatre chains, “alerting them to plan for May 4th.” There’s also the fact that the announcement of the 2019 Star Wars Celebration will be on May 4th and of course, it’s Star Wars Day – so the stars do seem to have aligned quite nicely here.

If true, this news couldn’t have come at a better time, given that yesterday Ron Howard spoke on behalf of Lucasfilm and himself regarding Alden Ehrenreich’s portrayal of the titular protagonist, saying, “it was not going to be an impression of Harrison. No one wanted that.” The comment is most reassuring considering that not even a month ago, an unnamed source close to the film was damning Ehrenreich’s performance, saying “Alden’s not a bad actor — just not good enough.”

Thankfully, then, it looks as if Solo: A Star Wars Story has nothing but clear skies in front of it as it quickly approaches its May 25th release date.
