Something Really Bad Happens In The First 5 Minutes Of Avengers: Infinity War

In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos will finally step out of the shadows and take on the combined forces of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. After various teaser appearances and cameos dating all the way back to 2012's The Avengers, there's a lot of hype for the Mad Titan and he's all set to be the biggest, baddest enemy the heroes of the Marvel universe have ever faced. We're sure that the titular team will ultimately be able to take him down, but they're certainly going to have a tough time doing so.

In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos will finally step out of the shadows and take on the combined forces of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. After various teaser appearances and cameos dating all the way back to 2012’s The Avengers, there’s a lot of hype for the Mad Titan and he’s all set to be the biggest, baddest enemy the heroes of the Marvel universe have ever faced. We’re sure that the titular team will ultimately be able to take him down, but they’re certainly going to have a tough time doing so.

Not only will Thanos have the Black Order there to help him, but he’ll also be in possession of the incredibly powerful Infinity Gauntlet, which will be fully equipped by the time the film rolls around. It’ll essentially allow the uber villain to wreak havoc and do just about anything he wants, which means he’s definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with.

That’s a point that Marvel is looking to hammer home, too, as according to Kevin Feige, within the first 5 minutes of the blockbuster, something really bad will happen that establishes Thanos as a serious threat. Speaking at the 2017 Comic-Con Experience in Brazil last weekend, the super producer explained that Infinity War will pull no punches and right from the start, we’ll see how dangerous Josh Brolin’s villain really is.

“Well it’s certainly the biggest movie we’ve ever made,” he said. “It is still shooting, we’ve been shooting all year long and Josh is doing an amazing job of playing Thanos. You know, we’ve been teasing Thanos since the very first Avengers film. Remember the end of Avengers, the very end of the movie he turns around in the chair and you realize something bad is coming.”

Continuing on, he revealed:

“We’ve been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver. So, within the first five minutes of Infinity War people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

What Feige says here makes perfect sense. Thanos has been teased for what feels like forever now and after so many years of having him hiding in the shadows, Marvel really needs to come out of the gate swinging and show us just how dangerous he truly is.

It won’t only be the Mad Titan that Iron Man and co. have to deal with, either, as Feige also told us that the big bad will be bringing along some friends.

“He’s got some company. He’s got some old faces that you’ll recognize. A certain brother of Thor might show up for a while with him and he has his own team called the Black Order which is a brand-new selection of villains. But really, Thanos doesn’t need much help. He can pretty much take care of it himself.”

After 10 years and 17 films’ worth of build-up – Black Panther notwithstanding – Avengers: Infinity War is finally prepped and ready to deliver a huge climax on May 3rd, 2018, and if Kevin Feige is to be believed, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are in for the fight of their life. One that will surely see some of them meet their end.
