Though the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home took a little longer to arrive than expected, Sony Pictures is already making up for lost time, accompanying this morning’s unveiling with the release of the first official poster for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel.
Peter Parker’s next solo outing will see the web-slinger take a tour of Europe, and in the new artwork, we see an assortment of stickers, badges and stamps from the various locations he’s stopping at, including Prague, London, Venice, the Swiss Alps and Berlin. As the new trailer indicates, Peter starts off his field trip with the intention of taking a break from Spider-Man, but sadly, Nick Fury has other plans, and going by Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal’s statements at CCXP last month, Spidey is soon paired up with Mysterio to fight Elementals across the continent.
Once again, it looks like Peter’s having some trouble balancing his personal life with his superhero life, though the trailer hints that he’ll still find time for a romantic subplot with Michelle “MJ” Jones. In the many photos we saw from the production’s tour through New York and Europe, Zendaya was undoubtedly the cast member who was pictured the most save for Holland himself, and there’s even been some speculation already that MJ learns of Spider-Man’s true identity.
In any case, it’s nice to see that Sony is finally ready to open up a little more about Spider-Man: Far From Home, though we’ll see what they’re still hiding from us when the film hits theaters on July 5th, 2019. In the meantime, we’ll learn how Peter and Nick Fury are each back in one piece when Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26th.
