It Doesn’t Sound Like Jennifer Lawrence Will Be Blue For Much Of X-Men: Apocalypse

Jennifer Lawrence has made no secret of the fact that she's not a huge fan of the hours it takes to go blue as Mystique in the X-Men movies, and while she may not have had a whole lot of choice as an up and coming actress in X-Men: First Class, the star of The Hunger Games franchise seemingly had more of a say in X-Men: Apocalypse!

Jennifer Lawrence has made no secret of the fact that she’s not a huge fan of the hours it takes to go blue as Mystique in the X-Men movies, and while she may not have had a whole lot of choice as an up and coming actress in X-Men: First Class, the star of The Hunger Games franchise seemingly had more of a say in X-Men: Apocalypse.

As many fans have already pointed out, we never actually see Mystique in her natural blue form in the first X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, and if Lawrence’s comments in a recent interview are any indication, it seems that was her choice.

“I am blue in it, a little bit. I put my foot down as much as I could. [But] they were very, very nice to me.”

This is something which is sure to annoy comic book fans. After all, in the comics, Mystique always remains in her blue form unless she’s disguised as someone else. It almost feels like a step back for this version of the character to keep herself in her human form, especially as she really appeared to embrace her mutant side in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Regardless, based on previous comments from the actress, X-Men: Apocalypse will be her final appearance as Mystique anyway. It’s certainly the last one she’s contracted for, so here’s hoping her story arc ends on a high next year regardless of what colour the actress is for the majority of her screentime.
