Here’s Every Spell Used By Doctor Strange During Avengers: Infinity War

An Instagram account by the name of 'SpideyMCU' has identified all of the many spells used by Doctor Strange during Avengers: Infinity War.

In honor of the whole ‘desperate times call for desperate measures’ routine, Doctor Strange unleashed a flurry of spells and ancients invocations upon Thanos (and the Black Order!) throughout the course of Avengers: Infinity War.

And thanks to one particularly astute Instagram account, we now know the origins of each spell and what it was used for. From the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth to the Winds of Watoombs, it’s fair to say that the Sorcerer Supreme pulled out all the stops, which is all the more impressive when you consider that he’s only been a master of the mystic arts for little over 12 months.

Still, it was no match for Thanos – if anything, Strange’s tricks and illusions merely delayed the inevitable, as each was designed to slow down the Mad Titan as he set about acquiring all six Infinity Stones. Of course, it’s only now that we watch Avengers: Infinity War with the benefit of hindsight that we realize Doctor Strange bought some precious time for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (and Scott Lang!) which may well prove crucial during Avengers 4.

On the topic of Infinity War – Part II (unofficial title), Marvel Studios isn’t expected to drop the first teaser trailer until the latter stages of November, and even then, we imagine we’ll have more questions than answers about what comes next for the Avengers.

There’s also the very real concern of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s Captain Marvel solo movie, which is due to arrive only eight weeks before the fourth Avengers film. How will Marvel manage to market one film without spoiling the other? We’ll find out very soon indeed.

Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War is now available across Blu-ray and all the usual platforms.
