Though it was all but confirmed, we can now tell you with 100% certainty that Spider-Man will be in Avengers: Infinity War. We know this because Robert Downey Jr. hosted a Facebook Live session earlier today where his camera man for the Q&A session was revealed to be none other than Tom Holland. It’s not terribly surprising, given that no one expected him to be left out, but it’s still the first real confirmation we’ve had and it’s good to know that he’s locked in for a role in the film.

In addition to the FB Live video, Marvel also surprised fans by releasing a brand new featurette to celebrate production kicking off the other week, and you can check it out above. No footage from the film is shown – obviously – but we do get an interesting behind the scenes look at what’s going on. Mostly made up of interviews with all the main players (cast and crew), the gang gives us just the smallest taste of what to expect from the massive blockbuster, and it definitely sounds pretty damn exciting.

The hype is real here, to be sure, as we’re told that Infinity War will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen on film before. Meanwhile, Kevin Feige explains how we got to this point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and promises an epic showdown between our heroes and Thanos. That’s not all, though, as we also get a small glimpse of some concept art featuring Rocket and Thor. It’s not much and certainly won’t stop the presses, but it’s enough to get us going.

Avengers: Infinity War, penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, smashes into theaters on May 4, 2018, bringing with it just about every living character in the MCU, it seems.
