Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Reportedly Delayed

Though it was supposed to be with us in just a few hours, we're now hearing that the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer has been delayed.

Upon first glance, the early December corridor might seem like it’s far too early for Marvel Studios to be promoting Spider-Man: Far From Home, especially when you factor Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame into the mix.

But with CCXP (Comic-Con Experience) already underway in Sao Paulo, Brazil, not to mention the fact that Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse is on the verge of swinging into theaters – whisper it – there’s never been a better time to premiere the first sneak peek of Peter Parker’s next big-screen adventure. And so, when we learned that Sony planned to roll out the first trailer for the Homecoming sequel, it made perfect sense. But unfortunately, it seems that plans have changed.

According to trusted industry tipster Daniel RPK, the trailer has been delayed. Or at least, its online rollout has. Apparently, it’ll still be shown at CCXP but won’t make its way onto the web until a later date. That date’s yet to be confirmed, but a few other insiders on Twitter believe it’ll be at some point next week, with Thursday and Friday being popular guesses.

Regardless, when it finally does arrive, it’ll be interesting to see the hype it garners so soon after Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame dropped their respective trailers. Don’t get us wrong, Spider-Man’s a wildly popular character, but many see Far From Home as the Ant-Man and the Wasp of 2019 Marvel flicks. In other words, it’s looking like the fun, relatively ‘minor’ entry that comes in the wake of a big solo debut (Black Panther/Captain Marvel) and a world-dominating Avengers film (Infinity War/Endgame).

Still, there’s much excitement swirling around the MCU as a whole right now, and with another three Marvel heavy-hitters slated for 2019, the juggernaut franchise is in fantastic shape as it prepares itself for Phase 4. Next stop? Captain Marvel in the spring, before the focus shifts to Spider-Man: Far From Home – but not before Avengers: Endgame forever changes the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it on April 26th, 2019.
