Two weeks ago, a leaked casting sheet for Spider-Man: Homecoming found its way online, igniting a whole wave of fresh rumors pertaining to Jon Watts’ standalone pic.

At the time, we asked you to treat those rumors as just that, but it seems a new interview with Hannibal Buress has lent credence to those reports linking Bokeem Woodbine with The Shocker. During an interview with The Breakfast Club (via CBM), the Homecoming star touched base on how he fits into Marvel’s massive ensemble cast.

“In Spider-Man, I play a gym teacher,” he said. “I play one of the dumbass characters that don’t realize he’s Spider-Man. [My character thinks] ‘He’s Peter Parker. Oh man, this guy’s really athletic!’”

It’s a fairly nondescript response, right? Well, not necessarily, bearing in mind that that aforementioned document listed Buress as Coach Wilson. If said leak was on point for Buress’ part in Spider-Man: Homecoming, surely it’s a similar case with Bokeem Woodbine and The Shocker, right? Marvel is yet to announce anything official, and until the first teaser trailer crawls onto the interwebs, we fully expect the studio to uphold that radio silence for quiet some time.

Elsewhere, bouncing off his recent – and ruddy remarkable – set video, lead star Tom Holland is placed front and center in the latest batch of photos to emerge from the Homecoming set. Coming to us by way of Reddit, don’t be fooled into thinking that Holland is in for a spot of disco-dancing in 2017, as those film utensils you see are actually used for the purpose of white balancing, while the two balls on a stick act as reference points for effects artists.

Spider-Man: Homecoming makes a beeline for theaters on July 7, 2017.
