Now that Avengers: Endgame has brought the whole Infinity Saga to a close, Marvel’s Phase 3 slate still has one more entry to go. We are, of course, referring to Spider-Man: Far From Home, a movie that lives up to its star Tom Holland’s reputation by serving as one big spoiler for the events of Endgame.
For obvious reasons, Marvel was a little coy about marketing Peter Parker’s next solo outing in the lead-up to last week’s release. But with the Avengers: Infinity War sequel finally in theaters, it looks like Sony is about to go full steam ahead with the Far From Home promotion. In fact, according to TrailerTrack, the next trailer for Jon Watts’ upcoming flick was rated earlier today by the UK’s BBFC.
With that in mind, there’s a very good chance that we’ll be seeing some new footage from the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel at the start of next week. At the very least, we can expect a preview to be with us in time for the release of Detective Pikachu on May 10th, and may even receive two trailers – one for the US, and one international.
The first Far From Home trailer came to us back in January, and proved a lot more revealing than any of the marketing for Endgame. However, now that Anthony and Joe Russo’s new movie has showed us what kind of a world Peter’s next film is inheriting, it’ll be interesting to see how much new content the next preview has to offer.
For example, will the trailer acknowledge the film’s position on the MCU timeline, or contain any references to Peter’s old mentor Tony Stark? It’s possible, but seeing how Endgame hasn’t even had its second weekend in cinemas yet, perhaps Sony will be saving these subjects for when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2nd.
