Stan Lee Wants To See A Marvel-Harry Potter Crossover

In our lifetime, we've had the privilege (depending on whom you may be asking) of seeing such film franchise crossovers as Alien vs. Predator, Freddy vs. Jason and even Lake Placid vs. Anaconda. But whereas the comic book realm has been home to ambitious mashups involving the likes of the Justice League and the Avengers, Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as, believe it or not, Archie and the Punisher, things this outlandish can be hard to achieve on the motion picture side of things due to vast amounts of legal red tape.

Leave it to one of the chief architects behind the Marvel Universe to say what millions of you have probably been thinking, though: That he, Stan Lee, wishes to see heroes of his creation meet the likes of Harry Potter and company!

Here’s what “the Man” laid out in a recent Tweet, also tagging author J.K. Rowling:

“Hey @jk_rowling if you ever want me to send Doctor Strange & The X-Men to Hogwarts to teach a few classes, just let me know. I think they could also hold down the fort against Voldemort.”

Marvel Harry Potter

Well, I guess it’s for the better that Lee presented this casual proposal to Rowling herself because, if we’re to be honest here, something this far out could be accomplished only as a literary work for the time being. Like we mentioned earlier, comics have been home to some memorable crossovers, and something this imaginative could keep the tradition going.

Conversely, it should be noted that Marvel characters mentioned by Lee – Doctor Strange and the X-Men – reside at separate movie studios, those being Disney and Fox, respectively, with Harry Potter calling Warner Bros. home. That said, there’s more likelihood in rival nations holding a peaceful summit on neutral ground rather than opposing Hollywood entities sharing equal pieces of the pie. So for now, we advise not holding your breath for this to happen.
