Not too long ago, Stan the Man was down in Atlanta on the set of a little known film called Avengers: Infinity War. You might have heard of it? Anyways, Lee will of course be showing up in Joe and Anthony Russo’s superhero extravaganza and appropriately, it might just be his best cameo yet. We know, bold words given how well placed some of his appearances have been, but the news comes straight from Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige.

During an interview with Maltin on Movies, the big boss said the following:

“Most recently Lee flew to Atlanta and shot four cameos in one day for upcoming projects, one of which I think is maybe the best one we’ve ever done. It’s a high bar for Stan.”

Of course, Feige wouldn’t reveal how Lee will factor into the film, but given how important Infinity War is – it’s by far Marvel’s biggest and most ambitious movie to date – we have no reason to doubt that it’ll include Stan’s best cameo yet. Like we said above, some of his appearances have been pretty damn clever and funny, but if Feige says this new one is a high bar, then we’ll take his word for it.

Avengers: Infinity War crashes into theaters on May 4th, 2018. It’ll be followed in quick succession by a fourth, as-yet-untitled Avengers movie in 2019, though Marvel has been playing its cards awfully close to the chest hitherto. Expect all that to change once Joe and Anthony Russo’s threequel lights up theaters next year.
