Stan Lee’s Deadpool 2 Cameo Has Been Revealed

Though Deadpool 2 doesn't feature a traditional cameo from comic book legend Stan Lee, he does still appear in the sequel.

Which Marvel hero has appeared in more movies than any of the Avengers or the X-Men? That’s right, it’s the one and only Stan Lee, who’s been a fixture of every Marvel production for the past two decades. Be it made by Disney, Fox or Sony, Lee is always welcome to turn up for a cameo in the latest film based on the comics franchise that he helped build, and each and every time he appears it’s a real treat.

Once known primarily as the founding father of Spider-ManHulkDoctor Strange, the Fantastic Four and so many other great Marvel characters, Lee is now considered the undisputed king of cameos. From Captain America: Civil War and The Defenders to last year’s Thor: Ragnarok, not a Marvel project goes by without some cute nod to the all-around industry legend – be it in the form of a well-placed poster or actual appearance. And of course, Deadpool 2 is no different.

Before we go any further, we’ll warn you that some minor spoilers may follow, so if you haven’t seen the film yet, bookmark this page and return once you have. Unless, of course, you want to be like Wade Wilson and throw caution to the wind. If that’s the case, then read on!

If you’ll recall, Lee’s cameo in Deadpool was one of his best yet, playing the MC in a strip club. Following that, he also appeared in the Deadpool 2 short which showed in theaters in front of Logan, giving us yet another great cameo. For the sequel itself, however, the comic book legend doesn’t actually appear in the flesh. Rather, all we see is a painting of him, which is fairly disappointing.

There’s a scene in the movie where the X-Force skydive from a plane and as Domino’s gliding down to the ground in her parachute, she passes by a wall-sized mural of his face. That’s all we get, and though it’s nice that the filmmakers thought to include a nod to Lee, having him actually show up would’ve been a whole lot better.

Still, to make up for it, we do get a rather shocking cameo from [SPOILERS] around the same time that Stan’s mural is seen, not to mention an appearance – via archival footage – from [SPOILERS] during one of the post-credits sequences. So there’s still much to look forward to in Deadpool 2 and you can see it all for yourself right now, as the film’s currently playing in theaters everywhere. Enjoy!
