In news that isn’t all too surprising, Paramount will be attaching the first trailer for Star Trek Beyond to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Aside from the obvious fact that both films are targeting a very similar audience, this also makes sense seeing as J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot produces the Star Trek films, so it shouldn’t have been too difficult to have the trailer attached to The Force Awakens.
Most likely, the trailer will be more of a tease than anything else, as I wouldn’t expect to see very much footage. There’s no word yet on exactly what it will consist of, but it’s probably just going to be more of an announcement trailer to remind us that the film is still coming next year, which some people may have forgotten given the frenzy surrounding The Force Awakens at the moment.
As for which other trailers you can expect to see playing in front of Star Wars, THR reports that a number of high-profile releases will get a chance to show off footage, including Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, X-Men: Apocalypse, The Jungle Book, Captain America: Civil War and more.
Back to Star Trek Beyond though, at this time we know very little about the film, but with its July 22nd, 2016 release date drawing closer and closer, we’re hoping to learn more about it early in the new year.
