If you were expecting to see a new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the D23 Lucasfilm panel, then you’re out of luck. Director J.J. Abrams has confirmed that despite not showing a new trailer during Comic-Con, there will be no footage on display during D23 this weekend, even though many of us had assumed there would be.

“It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise. In the fall, there’ll be a trailer,” Abrams told EW.

While disappointing, this does make sense. I mean, everyone already knows that they’re going to be lining up for this film on day one, and we have seen a decent amount of footage already, so why risk overkill? Plus, it’s not like Disney has to change public perception. I think that we’re all feeling pretty optimistic about Abrams’ journey to a galaxy far, far away, right?

Tell us, were you hoping to see a new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens at D23 this weekend? Or are you happy they’re holding back a bit? Sound off below!
