This past week finally saw the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, California, a theme park expansion that immerses visitors in the fictional reality of the space saga. The Disneyland expansion takes us to the planet Batuu between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. As you likely recall, Rian Johnson’s 2017 film left the Resistance in a pretty desperate state, whittled down to cripplingly low numbers. According to the backstory of Galaxy’s Edge, however, the rebels journey to Batuu with the hope of finding new allies and resources.

One hero dispatched to the region is Vi Moradi, a top spy who previously debuted in the tie-in novel Phasma by Delilah S. Dawson. At Galaxy’s Edge, you can find Moradi wandering the grounds, speaking to guests and trying to find fresh recruits for the Resistance. But when members of the First Order are in the vicinity, don’t be surprised if Moradi feels the need to sneak away.

Overall, Moradi’s role feeds into the popular theory that the Resistance will have garnered new support by the time the Sequel Trilogy finale gets going. In fact, considering the final scene of The Last Jedi and Oscar Isaac’s tease of guerrilla warfare, it’s starting to sound like the rebellion will be more of a grassroots campaign than we’ve seen in any previous Star Wars films. If so, then we’ll find out how the downtrodden masses can topple the First Order when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20th.
